If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant: if we did not sometimes taste of adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome. {Anne Bradstreet}
Sometimes God feels really far away. Prayers return empty, fasting leaves me hungry, worship seems an act and the Word falls flat. Distance arises, and like a lost child I rush around for a familiar hand to hold on to.
Then, all seems right again. Perfect communion is restored, and peace reigns in my heart. Do I believe that God has forsaken me in that time? No! Rather, through distance from Him, separation from His will and Spirit, I am reminded of my desire for Him. Like the woman in Song of Solomon, I search the empty streets for my lover, asking everyone around if they have seen Him.
Through loss we remember what we have. We welcome it back with open arms.

A slight moving update as we head into the weekend: Yesterday Josh & I got A LOT done! We’re hoping to get the majority of our packing done today, because tomorrow my baby boy turns 7-years-old!! We want to take time to celebrate Elijah, and the day that started our journey into parenthood. Sunday we will get prayed out by our church, and Monday we’re loading up our U-Haul and saying our good-byes. Your prayers are greatly appreciated as we navigate these emotional waters for ourselves and also our children.
