This verse from 2 Corinthians 1:3 is one that I turn to when I don’t understand why God is allowing me to walk through certain events in my life. It’s a comfort to me that although it’s not always easy, God can use any circumstance I’m in to make me a more effective minister later.
My ability to connect with others through shared trials is sometimes the only positive that can be attributed to a situation, but often enough that’s a lot! My compassion grows when I’ve walked in someone’s shoes. Maybe that’s why it means so much to me that Jesus spent time walking in mine. He can relate to the things I’m going through. Thankfully, I’ve never even come close to having to relate to the things He went through for me.
When my friend requested this verse I was excited because it’s been a comfort for me over many years. I hope that it is a comfort to you as well. Enjoy!

I’m a lil’ wifey. I am married to my high school sweetheart, Josh. We got married at the age of 20 and have enjoyed watching each other mature and change as we navigate our 30s. Getting married that young was hard, but we knew it was God’s timing for us and we don’t regret a thing.
I am a momma. We have four amazing, individualistic and crazy children; three boys and a girl. I am learning more about myself and God as I watch my children discover the world around them…that is a blessing.
I am a creative. I love writing, hand lettering, cooking and photography. I would love to make a career out of one of these hobbies but for now they’re all just for fun.
I am a servant. I have felt a call on my life to ministry from a young age. I knew as a teen that I would marry someone in the ministry and that my life would be devoted to following God’s will. So far that has taken us to many different locations and who knows what the future holds. Someday I’d like to be a missionary to France.
I am a work in progress.
