{abide}
I have a hard time just being.
I am good at going, moving, doing and planning.
The “be still, and know” has always been difficult for me. Over the last few years, God has been reminding me that He has it all under control. He’s teaching me — through my marriage, my children and life in general — that my job is to abide in Him.
To wait on the Lord.
To rest in His presence.
To trust in His vision.
And there is a promise that comes along with this:
If you abide in Me, and My words abide in You, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. John 15:7
We don’t wait, rest and trust selfishly; to get what we want from God. Rather, it is to draw closer to Him in relationship so that our wants and desires are aligned with His.
So this place is for those of us who are “in process” — a place where you can gain comfort and encouragement in the discovery that you are not alone.
I would love for you to join me as I daily strive to abide in Him.
{family}
My husband and I have been married for 10 years. We were high school sweethearts and got married at the young age of 20. As we are now entering our 30s, we have enjoyed watching each other mature and change. Although getting married young was hard, we knew it was God’s timing for us and we do not regret a thing. He is my best friend.
We have four children ages 7, 5, 3, and 1. I stay home with them. This can be both rewarding and frustrating. I am learning more about myself and God as I watch my children discover the world around them.
In my spare time (ok, you can all quit laughing), I love to try out new recipes, take pictures of my kids and read a good book. Occasionally I’ll post a fun new meal, a cute snapshot or a review of my latest find.

In 2009 I graduated from Life Pacific College, 10 years after I started. I am a licensed Foursquare pastor. My faith is the most important thing in my life, and it is what I mainly write about here. God permeates every aspect of my marriage, family, and day. Check out the Foursquare church’s website for a statement of beliefs.
